The Napoleonic Code was one of Napoleon's many acheivements. He considered this as one of his greatest accomplishments. The rough draft of the Napoleonic code was completed in the year 1801. Napoleon published the completed copy in 1804. It was the first organized laws that governed France. To make these laws, Napoleon ordered a few officials to help compose the Napoleonic code. This law took away many rights of women at the time and made them controlled by their husband or father. According to the Napoleonic Code, the wife had to be obedient to the husband and in return, the husband provided the wife protection. The husband was clearly the ruler of the family. This code was used for many years and it still lives today by some governments in the world as a model to organize laws.
